HOW TO INFLUENCE PEOPLE
There is no right way, nor is there only one way to influence others. Everything is a factor when influencing people.
We are all influenced by people, places, events and situations at all times. Sometimes we are affected more or less by these things, but we are continually being influenced by what happens around us.
So what about the specifics in the workplace?
Your job requires you to influence people just about all of the time. It may take the form of gaining support, inspiring others, persuading other people to become your champions, engaging someone's imagination, creating relationships.
Whatever form it takes, being an excellent influencer makes your job easier.

HANDLING DIFFICULT PEOPLE
A problem, any problem, is the difference between what you have got and what you want. Whenever you think this difference comes about because of someone's actions or behaviour, you have what we are going to call a people-problem. It does not matter whether you are right or wrong in your thinking; all that matters is that you are aware of a gap between what you have got now and what you want and believe it is being caused by someone's actions. The actions may be those of your spouse, your children, your friends, your colleagues, your subordinates, your boss, your competitors-anyone, in fact, and even yourself.
This course will enable you to:-
* Develop specific strategies for conflict resolution
* Recognise classic profiles of difficult people and strategies for handling them
* Pre-empt challenging situations and avoid escalating them further
* Recognise personality types with which you may clash
* Develop assertive skills and behaviours
* Handle aggressive behaviour
* Deliver negative feedback to a colleague or subordinate
* Give positive feedback
* Calm angry, upset and unresponsive individuals

MEETING SKILLS
When it comes to business meetings, they are not always pleasant but they are a necessary component of any organisation.
They are either: too long, too short, too boring, too rigid, too flexible
Too many games and hidden agendas
Too little direction
Have too few outcomes
or
Well-focused, well-Chaired, on-time, on-target
Creative
Productive
Enjoyable
For many people in larger organisation, meetings can take up a significant portion of the working week. If meetings are badly run or poorly scheduled they can overrun, overlap, get curtailed, get cancelled and destroy your best-laid time-management plans at a stroke. However, well-run business meetings are a joy to partake in.
This course will enable you to:-
* Make meetings shorter, more focussed and productive
* Have clear guidelines for the planning, preparation and structure of meetings
* Apply the skills of leading, processing and controlling meetings
* Participate actively and make effective contributions

CONFLICT MANAGEMENT
Conflict is when two or more values, perspectives and opinions are contradictory in nature and haven't been aligned or agreed about yet.
Just about every company in the world has, on occasion, a problem with conflict among its people, or conflict that its people have to deal with externally. Indeed, there are many companies where conflict arises a lot. With resolution conflict can be rewarding and exciting and can move things forward.
Your organisation may need people to get on with each other better and not get bogged down in arguments and tensions that disrupt the flow of work. You may simply need some of your staff to be able to manage conflict with more panache, or even instigate conflict management if necessary.
This course will enable you to:-
* Identify the critical features and benefits of conflict management
* Identify different types of conflict and different techniques for managing them
* Differentiate between confrontational and collaborative reactions to a conflict
* Identify and managing negative emotional reactions that accompany a conflict
* Identify the time for seeking third-party mediation in an escalating conflict
